Description
Selected titles from the private collection of a music business veteran are now being made available for the first time. Titles offered by this Seller are one-owner and came directly from the pressing plant, record company warehouse, other label reps or record store unless otherwise noted.
Grading is based on visual inspection.
Album ships in a 2 MIL poly cover sleeve.
I package records outside the cover to avoid seam splits.
- The Seller swears that Spooky Tooth led by American Gary Wright (The Dream Weaver) was one of the all-time under-appreciated bands. And this album was their tour de force. see the review below.
- This is the Island import with the pink label on heavy vinyl.
- It has a couple spindle marks but the playing surface appears clean. It is NM.
- The Gatefold cover has tight seams with a couple small corner bumps.
- The original inner sleeve is plastic lined paper.
- The Seller was a big fan and he pulled this from his record store in 1969. He stored this copy and played the A&M version.
In their retrospective review, Allmusic commented that "Spooky Two is this British blues-rock band's pièce de résistance. All eight of the tracks compound free-styled rock and loose-fitting guitar playing, resulting in some fantastic raw music. ...their smooth, relaxed tempos and riffs mirrored bands like Savoy Brown and, at times, even the Yardbirds. ...Although Spooky Tooth lasted about seven years, their other albums never really contained the same passion or talented collaborating by each individual musician as Spooky Two."
