Description
This is Clef Records MGC-137, Stan Getz Plays, a black, deep groove, trumpet label original mono10" LP issue of this classic session featuring Jimmy Raney and Duke Jordan. The record is visually in VG++ condition showing almost no signs of wear but I rate it VG+(+) (a very strong VG+) because it plays with some background hiss mostly audible at the beginning of each side. I credit this to a pressing problem. However, this does not interfere with the enjoyment of the record and there are no skips and no distortion of the music. The beautiful, original David Stone Martin cover is excellent and intact. The labels are excellent and show no spindle marks. This is still an excellent collector's grade copy of a rare original issue. The record was cleaned on a VPI 17 and played on a Linn Sondek LP12.
