Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi Soundtrack LPs
These soundtracks have been in safe storage for decades. The Star Wars and Return of the Jedi soundtracks were given to me as gifts when new. I purchased The Empire Strikes Back soundtrack new in 1990 as I never had it originally.
Star Wars and Return of the Jedi were played occasionally before eventually being put into permanent storage. The Empire Strikes Back was bought to complete the set and opened but never played (as I recall) until testing it to assure quality for this auction.
All records have been recently tested.
Star Wars:
- This is a 1978 reprint with the "20th Century Fox Records" center label.
- Gatefold is in average condition.
- Records have a few visible light scratches but do not affect playback.
- Records play perfectly except Side 1, Track 1 (Main Title). See below.
- Original insert is in extremely good condition.
- The poster was not included with the 1978 reprint.
The Empire Strikes Back:
- This is a reprint with the "Polydor" center label.
- Cover was not reissued in a gatefold style for this reprint.
- Cover is in like-new condition.
- Records are in like-new condition.
- Records play perfectly.
Return of the Jedi:
- This is a 1983 first print.
- Gatefold is in very good condition.
- Record is in very good condition.
- Record plays perfectly.
- Original insert is in very good condition but has one minor impression (through both pages) that isn't deep or creased and could possibly be flattened out.
Please note: Star Wars has one minor issue:
- At 45 seconds in, the music in Main Title jumps ahead 1-2 seconds (skipping a few notes) then continues playing perfectly for the rest of the entire album.
- I do not see a scratch or damage at all in that spot of the record.
- It has been cleaned and scrutinized and that section of record looks fine.
- Perhaps a defect or flaw at that one point in the pressing of the vinyl.
All three soundtracks have been reviewed, tested and described as best as possible. Soundtracks are sold "as-is".
