This is the US version of the debut 1968 LP release from Status Quo. Released as 'Picturesque Matchstickable Messages' in the UK and 'Messages from the Status Quo' in the US. This is the 1968 US original first pressing stereo LP.
US import version of the debut LP on Cadet Concept records.
This 40+ year old album has got hard to find and is highly sought due to it's reputation that continues to grow.
RECORD - EX/EX
Play tested. Clean and bright sound. Unmarked vinyl under normal light. Halogen light reveals a few fine hairlines that do not affect play.
LABELS - EX+/EX+
Usual tiny import 'drill-hole' in centre of label (see photo)
SLEEVE - EX
Original heavy card US cover. The cover is crisp and sharp. Usual tiny import 'drill hole' through the centre (see photo) Solid seams. Very minor general corner wear. Spine intact and all text visible.
Has the "Picture Of Matchstick Men" sticker on center front that came on the outside cellophane wrapper (which, the outer wrap was almost always torn off, thus the sticker gone too...)

RECORD COLLECTOR Grading System.
In order to assist everyone who buys and sells rare discs, Record Collector magazine has originated a set of standards for the condition of second-hand records.MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
All my records will be sent to you in specialist vinyl mailers with stiffeners and fragile stickers.This is reflected in the postage charges. I hope this will give my records the best chance of arriving with you safely.
