Description
Bob Ludwig engineered two of the Zeppelin Lp's (to my knowledge) Led Zep ll & Houses of the Holy A very tight extended bass range is notable (this is not unnatural sounding but rather breathes extra life into the recordings) Bass definition is very closely related to excellent high end definition. Crystal clear high end reproduction. The Rain Song & acoustic segments exhibit a few clicks or pops . VG to VG+ is a fair grade. This is the first pressing and also contains the SD7255 inner sleeve (& lyrics) and is a Phillips Recording Co Pressing /Richmond ,Indiana (RI at end of matrix) 1973 pressing Stereo MFG BY ATLANTIC RECORDING CORP. 75 Rockefeller Plaza, NY NY (no mention of Warner Recording) also tells you that this is an early pressing (as if STERLING RL in the trail off vinyl is not enough) VERY well balanced sound! The cover has notable wear , most obviously in a tear to the artwork near the bottom of the back cover . Corner wear to edges and wear overall prevents a higher grade to the gatefold cover. Color over balancing and intensity typical of first pressings Sterling RL is visible in many of the photos if you zoom in and on both sides. VINYL: VG+ overall though certain segments could be graded VG (by Strict Goldmine Standards) pops or clicks but no other apparent surface noise Lps with lack of overall surface noise grade VG+ or better generally Many cuts therefore could grade as Excellent as well. Priced low for a Bob Ludwig Sterling Sound pressing mostly for clicks in THE RAIN SONG and the cover condition. Cover: VG- or Vg ( details in description above and photos) Sleeve: VG+ Enjoy!
