Songs in the Key of Life , pubblicato il 28 Settembre del 1976 dalla Motown Records , è il diciottesimo album registrato dall'artista Americano , Stevie Wonder . L'album ha segnato il culmine del suo "periodo classico" . La registrazione è stata eseguita presso il Record Plant in Hollywood , all'Sausalito Music Factory in Sausalito e al The Hit Factory in New York City.
Si tratta di un ambizioso doppio LP con un EP bonus contenente quattro canzoni , Songs in the Key of Life è diventato uno , tra gli album della sua carriera , più venduti e più acclamati dalla critica . Nel 2003 , l'album è stato classificato al numero 56 dalla rivista Rolling Stone nella sua lista dei 500 migliori album di tutti i tempi “ Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time “.

These new, Japanese SHM-SACD (Super High Material SACD) pressings utilize a special polycarbonate layer over super-defined SACD pits for better transparency and read-accuracy. SHM-SACDs are also manufactured with more clearly defined pits for better tracking and less resultant jitter.
