This copy is still-sealed, un-played, and presumed to be mint.  The cover is still sealed in its original loose perforated bag, with no rips or tears, only the two small circular breathe holes on the front & back.  All corners on the gatefold jacket are clean & crisp with the exception of a small dent on the top corner as seen in the photo series with this listing.  A small 1” x 2” sticker is adhered to the back indicating that this copy is #2956 of 5000 reportedly manufactured.

In the late 1980s, the album was issued in a numbered, limited edition by Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs, using their half speed mastering process.  Every title ever issued by Mobile Fidelity is collectible in its own right; their pressings from 1978 through 1989 were pressed in Japan by JVC on their proprietary Super Vinyl, an exceptionally resilient, dead-quiet vinyl compound. These records were mastered at half speed; both the tape and the cutting lathe were run at half the normal speed, allowing the cutting head to cut a more accurate groove in the acetate.  The finished product featured dead-quiet vinyl, with improved dynamics, better imaging, and tighter bass.  By their very nature, all of Mobile Fidelity’s titles were limited-edition pressings, and The Dream of the Blue Turtles was limited to 5000 numbered copies.

Welcome to our Ebay store.  We have been buying & selling vinyl for 34 years from our retail location in El Paso, Texas.  We offer rare or obscure items with national or worldwide interest outside our regional marketplace.  To avoid confusion, we have simplified our grading system with a generalized rating combined with a detailed description and photography.  Vinyl is described first followed by the jacket condition.

·        VG – Very Good - Appears Like-New.  Possibly un-played or  once-played.

·        G - Good – Clean, minimally-played and carefully-handled.  Minimal handling & wear.  May include very faint usage or handling traces but retains original glossy-shine.

·        FG – Fairly Good – Normal to average wear. May include scattered  hairlines & some mild scuffing-blemishes which will not affect playback.

·        F – Fair – Heavier wear and scuffing, but acceptable.

·        P – Poor – Useful for artwork and liner-notes.

Audiophile or discriminating collectors are encouraged to consider only records in our Very Good or Good categories. 

After extensive evaluation & research, all records are priced at a competitive fair market value for their designated condition.  Higher demand items are offered for auction. Our descriptions are based on our own visual grading standards.  With due respect to the future owner, we do not play-test records unless specifically requested by a serious potential buyer.

Most sales are processed within 24 hours.  Orders arriving late Friday, Saturdays & Sundays are processed on Mondays.  All records are professionally packed, and unless factory-sealed, are shipped separately from their sleeves & jackets. 

U.S. customers can receive free Media Mail shipping when purchasing 3 or more items from our store. Otherwise, these general shipping rules for U.S. customers apply:
