Description

Recently purchased from a leftover 1920's dealer's stock, is this Race Series Viva-Tonal Columbia 14232-D by Bessie Smith & Her Blue Boys entitled "Trombone Cholly" featuring Charlie Green on trombone. Also sitting in are Joe Smith on cornet and Fletcher Henderson on piano.
On the other side, Bessie sings "Lock And Key" accompanied by James P. Johnson on piano.
Recorded in the spring of 1927, both 78rpm sides are in beautiful excellent-plus (E+) condition, looking like it has never been played.
