Description
During the Sun Years Sam Phillips started the Phillips International Record label, in the late 1950's. The second release was No 3517 by Hayden Thompson. A few years ago I was in Memphis and purchased a 45 rpm version of this record, "Love My Baby" (Parker) b/w "One Broken Heart" (H. Thompson) I had purchased this 78 version several years ago. During May, 2007 Hayden Thompson appeared in Green Bay, Wi. at a Fiffties Fest III week. I had Hayden autograph both copies and now I am offeering the 78 version for sale. Included are concert pictures and a flyer from a Chicago appearance a a lounge in Chicago after the fest was over. I full schedule of the festival listing all the performers will also be included.
History:
As Presley did on "Mystery Train" (Parker) Thompson and company borrow "Love My Baby" from the Sun bluesman Little Junior Parker and turn it into this first rate rockabilly rave-up. On the flip side, Thompson provided Knox Music with some original material of his own. Starting with a deseptive Latin rhythm, Thompson soon breaks free into 4.4 rhythm, much as his hero Elvis had done in the same studio just two years earlier on Milk Cow Blue Bookie. Record in in mint condition, autographed, perhaps played once, enclosed in a heavy 78 cover and a plastic cover. If you have any questions ask before bidding. Insurance is required. This record will be packaged in cardboard and foam to assure arrival. If you have any questions ask before bidding.
