This album of Sweet Emma "The Bell Gal" & Her Dixieland Boys featuring Jim Robinson is one of 2 albums of the series New Orleans - The Living Legends. The owner purchased it in New Orleans at Preservation Hall in 1962. There are 6 autographs of Sweet Emma and her band. They are Sweet Emma, piano, Ernie Cognalatti, trumpet,Louis Cottrell, clarinet, Alcide Pavageau, bass, Joe Watkins, drum, and Jim Robinson, trombone. Sweet Emma was born in 1897 and died in 1983. She was still performing at that time, even though she had suffered a stroke a few years earlier. In her early years, she was featured on the cover of Glamour magazine. She took the Preservation Hall Jazz Band on national and international tours - but always loved New Orleans best! This is a true collector's keepsake - especially if you love New Orleans jazz! Don't pass it up!
