T KAIL "Somewhere, Sometime" original psych lp M-

1980/USA/Jade BBW 8001….. here’s a super clean original pressing of this highly regarded lp. The cover  is in Excellent  condition, there is a minor tiny dent on the spine, a handful of very tiny spots of wear on the seam, there is very slight corner wear and some spotty wear on the top seam, otherwise clean with no splits, delete or other issues!. The vinyl is in M- like new condition. The labels are clean with no spindle marks. Plays clean! A TOP copy of this ultra rare lp! There is some glare on the picture due to camera flash. The cover looks a bit washed out due to the flash as well. Please check my listings for other psych, prog, and various lps’, good luck and thanks for looking!

After Bobb Trimble’s work, this is the best 80s psych album. In fact, at least for side one I’d go out on a limb and rank it the very best co-ed San Francisco-style psych album. In the tradition of the best latter day psych, it clearly is influenced by the golden age of West Coast music, but sounds completely of its time as well. This is no simple throwback or derivative work; it’s a wholly unique and distinctive album that combines a very wide and unlikely set of influences in creative and wonderful ways. The album’s biggest criticism has come from the inclusion of a straight disco song on side two. The song is unlikely to appeal to the same audience as the garage-styled opener “Peace of Mind,” but in the context of the album, which flows from song to song, showing subtle shifts in style, it actually makes perfect sense. Similarly, neither the new wave-styled synthesizer on the title track or the long jazz-funk instrumental opening on the final song sound out of place. There seems to be no attempt at attracting any particular type of audience here: no artifice, no pandering. It’s a wonderful album. Highest among the many pleasures is the absolutely stunning title track, which benefits from a chill-inducing vocal from Kathy Bass. The long guitar solo on “Bye Bye” is also a winner, in the best tradition of Quicksilver Messenger Service or Tripsichord Music Box. This is also one of the very few albums of this style where the male and female vocals coexist without stepping on each other’s toes. If you can live with the disco tune, this is very, very highly recommended. The band is quite mysterious (no photos on the album cover) and sadly appear to have made no further recordings. MINT: as stated with no defects

M- OR NEAR MINT: as stated near Mint!, or Mint Minus, same thing, very clean with no defect to sound or visual appearance, one scuff or mark may be permitted but it will be mentioned in the description, a near Mint record looks and plays very clean

EXCELLENT: not much below near Mint, may have a delete hole and/or a minor defect or two not visually detracting from the cover, the vinyl will appear shiny and in clean condition with very minor defects not affecting the sound, still very clean and very collectable!

VG++ still a very nice copy with minimal cover wear and/or delete/splits, still visually appealing, the vinyl will retain it's original gloss and can have some minor scuffs/scratches that don't affect play very much

VG+ a little more cover/ring wear and delete, splits etc., the vinyl will still retain much original gloss with a bit more scuffs and/or scratches I may list a very rare or desirable item with a lower grade, I will try to list all defects, both cover and vinyl no matter the condition, I also play grade the records on high end equipment and will give an honest play grade as well as visual grade, considering the number of records I buy on line my grading is very conservative and fair.
