Considered to be the last great Bolan LP, 1973s Tanx predates punk in some ways, with largely darker and more aggressive songs, and shorter songs than the previous two T. Rex albums ("Electric Warrior" and "The Slider") with 9 of the tracks less than three minutes long.
Tanx is also the first album to notably incorporate elements of soul music, further explored in the following album, "Zinc Alloy and the Hidden Riders of Tomorrow", and later T. Rex albums.
Likewise, it's the beginning of Bolan's marked departure from the glam rock style which he originated and helped popularise, preceding David Bowie's departure from glam and move towards soul music with his album, "Young Americans", by nearly 2 years

LABELS: EXCELLENT+/NEAR MINT
Both labels are clean but Side One has slight mottling (nothing serious). I cannot however seen any spindle traces at all so this copy has received very little, if any, play in the past
VINYL Visual: NEAR MINT
Both surfaces are practically unmarked and shine like-new
VINYL Audio: NEAR MINT
Outstanding sound quality with a deep, rich and warm loud cut and my play-check at volume found little to fault - nothing but a touch of low-level surface between some of the tracks
SLEEVE: VERY GOOD+
The sleeve is solid with some rub to the edges and surfaces but all text on the spine is clear and bold
INNER SLEEVE: EXCELLENT
Clean and unmarked - some record pressure from the heavyweight vinyl to the bottom edge but it has not split through
POSTER: MINT
Probably never even been opened prior to my photographs - none of the common foxing to the white back - perfect condition
