T S Mims on Hy-Tone 35 "Dreamy Day Blues" 1947 rocking r&b 78 rpm, E+ grade despite tiny scuff on one label. The Mims Hy-Tone release is by all indications extremely rare. On the "Dreamy Day Blues" label there is a credit "Vocal Dorothy Washington" to the right of the center hole, and the suffix 57B in the wax after the matrix number UB21824 HY. Senabelle Richie Fenner, identified by the Chicago Defender in a February 23, 1952 article as a "writer, poet, and song-stylist, whose compositions have been recorded by numerous artists," was also co-composer for "Drinkin' Blues" by Tom Archia and his All Stars with Dr. Jo Jo Adams handling the vocals; released on Aristocrat 802, "Drinkin' Blues" was recorded in July 1947. She was further responsible for the risqué "Baseball Blues," cut by Clarence Samuels with a Porter Kilbert band in December 1947 and released on Aristocrat 1003.

V+ is an average condition 78 in which scuffs and genral use has dulled the finish somewhat. Wear is moderate but playing is generally free from distortion. Surface noise not overly pronounced.

Moderate, even wear throughout, but still very playable. Surface noise and scratches audible but not intrusive.

Quite playable still, but distortion and heavy greying in loud passages. Music remains loud in most passages. Surface noise and scratches well below music level.

Grey throughout but still serviceable. Music begins to sound muffled. Heavy scratches.

Properly packed single-disc parcels start at 2-pounds, and increase in 1-pound increments for approximately every 2 discs added, so I must ask $1.00 per each additional disc. It makes sense to switch from Regional to Flat Rate if you win many records at once.

ALL 78s ARE SHIPPED VIA USPS PRIORITY MAIL ONLY.  Standard or Flat Rate will be selected depending on the overall weight of your order. One method will save you a few dollars, the general rule being a heavy multiple order will benefit from using Flat Rate Priority... whereas a lighter weight parcel is best served by using Standard Priority.

You can see after about five records, it will be best to switch from Standard to Flat Rate. Up to 20 pounds (around twenty-five separate discs or two album sets) can be safely nestled in a Flat Rate carton for one flat rate price.
