The third Tyrannosaurus Rex single and the first of the five to appear on the red Regal Zonophone label, Pewter Suitor is probably the rarest Tyrannosaurus Rex single, owing to the fact that it was only one of two that didn't make the charts at all and the other one appeared on an album release. Pewter Suitor didn't chart or appear on an album at the time, although curiously the B side did. Pewter Suitor has an obscure lyric and tune, and cannot be described in any way as Marc Bolan at his best. It is, in my opinion a strange choice for a single, unlike the other four on the Regal Zonophone label, which all have something addictive about the melody, that something that made Bolan a songwriting genius, way ahead of his time as far as 60s records went. The single has relatively few light surface marks and plays extremely well on both sides with no sticks or jumps and it still has a nice shine to it. The labels are Excellent to Excellent Plus (A side) and Excellent ++ (B side). There are no writing, tears or stickers on either side. Scans of both sides are shown below but as they are dark labels the scans aren't that good.
