TAMAN SHUD
"Evolution"
Original Stereo LP, CBS SBP 233761 , released 1969, original Australian pressing.
Recorded at the end of 1968, this was TAMAN SHUDS first album and is considered by many to be one of the first wholly original prog rock albums produced in Australia. Recorded rather primitively, the album has a definite 'live' feel about it and was put down in a single two-and-a half hour session in the studio. Four of the 12 tracks were used in filmmaker Paul Witzigs classic Australian surf film Evolution.

Condition:
Record - VG : This record plays very well with excellent dynamics .There are quite a few sleeve scuffs and some fine hairline surface scratches resulting in some minor surface noise audible at the start, in between tracks, and in some lower volume musical passages however they don't come close to overpowering the dynamics of the music. There are no skips or jumps. The record still has very good lustre. Labels are clean with no writing.
Cover - VG : Front cover still very glossy and presentable. There is slight lifting of the laminate near the spine and a few minor creases at the extreme corners of the album. Some ring wear is apparent mainly at the top of the front cover. Writing on spine is totally legible and intact however ther a a few minor breaks along its length. Rear cover shows more ringwear than front cover particularly over blackened area at bottom of cover due to rubbing. Top and bottom seams in excellent condition with little or no wear apparent. Opening edge of cover showing some wear but overall quite crisp. No writing or pen marks on cover.
This historic Australian prog rock album is quite hard to find these days, particularly a very good copy such as this one, and would be an asset to any collection.
