'ITS THE VINYL COUNTDOWN'
Welcome to 'Its the vinyl countdown' music auctions. Here you will find some of the most incredible rare records and music memorabilia for your collection. We pride ourselves on auctioning only the highest grade records and items, you will not see anything listed here below EX+ condition, unles the item is extremely rare. You will not see worn covers, warped records or scratched records. We simply do not bother with them.
We list in many cases, 'Archived' & 'mint' condition items, we are able to source from private collections all over the UK. So we hope you can be put at ease that what you are bidding on is of the highest quality.
We play through most of the records, unless the item is clearly mint, or sealed..in which case we don't play them, thus maintaining their 'unplayed' status! Obviously with some of these rare items there will be the odd 'anomoly' along the way , the odd little static pop or lead in 'sizzle' for a split second.. nothing is perfect we find! all systems differ, but we aim to describe these as accurately as possible for you.... PLEASE ENJOY THIS ITEM YOU ARE NOW LOOKING AT..

THE VINYL MINT- INCREDIBLE CONDITION
As you can see, this vinyl is the highly prized 1st UK pressing with the MATT ORIGINAL VIRGIN LABELS -Stored from new this LP has seen a couple at best of careful plays, and remains in pristine condition everywhere. The best example we have seen. REVIEW COPY, STORED FOR DECADES!
This first pressing is a superb vinyl which has retained its amazing glossy sheen and finish. There is no dulling anywhere and overall it is in incredible condition for an LP of this age. The edges are silky smooth, typical of these vintage pressings. We are seing fewer and fewer copies of this LP, so rarely do we see a copy at all, let alone like this.
A couple of tiny spider lines around the centre hole, but no wear to the spindle hole of any note.
There are a few tiny whisp lines, and thats it- nothing else! Clearly this LP has been archived for many many years, a few little dust specs are on the vinyl when we slid it for checking..IT REMAINS IN ASTONISHING CONDITION.
On playing through there was some very feint static in the beginning, but nothing to spoil the play and there were no jumps or skips or unwanted noise..bearing in mind how quiet this LP is in places, the occassional tiny static crack does appear..possibly something that wont sound on the next play, as this LP has not seen daylight for decades! a professional clean could remedy this back to an EVEN higher grade play!! if thats possible!!!
OVERALL THIS IS SIMPLY A MUST FOR ANY FINAL UPGRADE COLLECTION. YOU WILL NOT SEE BETTER.
THE LABELS MINT FLAT MATT VIRGIN LABELS
THE SLEEVE MINT- SIMPLY PRISTINE.
Correct FLAT MATT first UK issued earliest sleeve -by 'ROBOR'.. Later sleeves were the typical glossier late 70s/80s design -
Impossible to find these first issued sleeves in this condition, the flat matt inks mark so easily, that finding this sleeve without ring wear or bad rubing is nigh on impossible.. BUT..we have here a beauty..
This is in simply incredible condition, you will not see better than this we feel!
THE BLACK INKS ARE SOLID, AND ONLY A COUPLE OF TINY SPECS OF RUB ON THE BACK AND FRONT, With the slightest of ringwear. But, we only take the best sleeves, so rest assured this is still an amazing sleeve.
The open edge remains in immaculate sharp condition with not a hint of handling, and all edges are super crisp. Just one tiny dink on the botom open edge
There a couple of feint spider lines over the edge of the spine, and some tiny tip rub on the open end bottom
The 'PROUD' spine edge is totally unmarked with no squash or wear! It has that typical line running down part of the front next to it, which occurs on so many sleeves of this era and type.. nothing to worry over really.
This type of square spine is typical of these first edition sleeves, and all legends are perfectly readable, no rub or spider lines at all. (Later printed sleeves would have a rounded smaller spine.)
WE CLARIFY BY SAYING, THIS 'MATT 1st SLEEVE SO HARD TO FIND LIKE THIS HAS TO BE SEEN AS POSSIBLY THE BEST YOU COULD HOPE TO SEE.
THE INNER SLEEVE MINT-
Original 'pat printed' paper inner, no tears or splits
