Emil Telmanyi playing Bach’s Sonata No.2 in A minor and partita No.2 in D minor using the Vega Bach bow. Decca mono recording on orange/gold label catalogue number LXT 2952. (This is record 2 from the set of 3 records.)
The disc has several very light surface/hairline marks but no serious visual faults. We have listened very critically. Side 1: 3 loud ticks at start plus approx. 30 random ticks. Side 2: 2 loud ticks at start plus approx. 50 random ticks. Some of the random ticks are noticeable but most are VERY faint. There is no background noise. Definitely not a perfect copy but the overall impression is of a fabulous quality recording. The thin card sleeve is very scruffy – dirty and seriously rubbed at edges and corners.
