Description
THE ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND AT FILLMORE EAST (1971) Atlantic/Polydor UK
* 1st UK pressing
* Set no: 2659-006; cat no's are 2402035 for record 1 and 2402036 for record 2
* One of the first cuts: matrix no's are A1/B1 (record 1) and A1/B3 (record 2)
* with desirable 'plum' labels (red/purple) and UK cover (many UK discs were given USA discs due to a production problem)
* good condition discs (VG+) with only minimal marks to surface (NO deep marks or any writing)
* as noted inside the cover, 'in this two record set Side One is backed with Side Four and Side Two is backed with Side Three' (not all versions of this set are the same)
* there is a sticker on the back cover (still neatly applied) marked 'K60011 stereo' ... 'An Atlantic record distributed by Kinney Record Group Limited'
* original iconic album of the 70s blues-rock scene
Very rare to find such an album come up for sale HOWEVER please note the following issues before deciding whether this is for you:
- cover has scuffing at edges and corners
- there is a light bend at the bottom right corner (both sides of gatefold)
- top right corner if the front cover has a small rip (approx 1.5cm) that could be partially glued back down if preferred. It does blend in quite well with the black and white cover design
- some impressions/scuffs mainly to front - again these do blend in quite well
- the slipcases have probably been replaced as one is plain white (quite good condition) and the other is dated January 1972 (this one is quite crumpled and has a small rip in the centre)
- general signs of age to cover and slip cases; please see photos for condition etc.
Some collectors will not consider the quality good enough to bid; others of you may simply wish to own and play this iconic and quite hard to come by album, and consider its little imperfections a sign of good living and 'character', akin to the original group perhaps!
This will be sent in a high quality, protective cardboard mailer, for safe transit.
