THE ASSOCIATION - Birthday ORIG Warner Brothers LP WS 1733 (UK, Stereo, 1968)
Happy to present an amazingly well preserved copy of this US pop-psych classic, produced by Bones Howe with an ultimate fresh, period PopArt sleeve designed by Wayne Kimbell. This whole package is in immense condition throughout.
If you belong to the top grade collectors who accept only the freshest, most crisp, near Mint sleeves, then you will be delighted with the condition of this single format tri-flipback, front laminated 1968 copy. Not only is it a lovely & colourful design, but except for the customary tiny spine-edge creases, it is wholly uncreased throughout, both front and back. It lies superbly flat with no rippling and shows no laminate peel or lift. The corners maintain near complete definition and sharpness and there are no edge rubs. The spine is virtually ‘as was’ with only one tiny laminate crack, square and defined with all text fully legible. No writing, soiling, or foxing spots. Even the non-laminated rear panel is not creased and maintains full colour. All flipbacks firmly glued down with no dirt accumulation. The type of 1960’s sleeve which makes UK laminates some of the most sought after works of art in the World. I hope you’ll agree with me when I grade it a rare M- (Mint Minus).
The deep orange late 60’s vintage Warner Bros labels are without writing, without residue and show no damage. There is one spindle trace to each side. This looks only once or twice played.
The medium heavy to heavyweight vinyl is a gem and shows NO discernible markings of any kind. Under bright light there are no scuffs, hairlines, scratches, dust pockets or bubbles/craters. Has been listened to and plays unhindered with NO crackle, near silent track divides, no hiss, distortion or loss of clarity. Looks lovely and also grades M-(Mint Minus).
An American odyssey through the lighter side of Psych. Sometimes spacey with some great Beach Boys-esque harmonies, this looks and sounds superb for a 42 year old disc.
