Description
ROSSINI ‘THE BARBER OF SEVILLE’: Maria Callas, Tito Gobbi, Luigi Alva. Philharmonia Orchestra & Philharmonia Chorus Alceo Galliera. Released on the EMI label SLS 853 . This 3 vinyl box set is in very good plus overall condition.
3xVinyl’s audio quality: VG+....Really good ,clear sound with no major issues such as jumps or noticeable scratches. There are a few light ‘pops’ on sides 3 & 5 and the usual bit of surface noise elsewhere,chiefly in the empty space between some of the tracks
3x Vinyl’s visual quality: VG+... Nice bright sheen to all 6 sides. A few very hard to see small light marks and some very light ‘hairlines’ (made when removing the records from the sleeve) are visible when the disc’s are ‘angled’ under good light.
Labels: EX...In excellent condition (see photos).
Box cover: VG ...The box is in very good condition. However as is often the case with these type of boxes, one of the corner edges, where it turns over, has split(see photo 12). This of course is very easily repaired if required.There’s a little bit of shelf wear around the edges and corners of the box and a very small crease in the centre of an edge, on the upper ‘lid’ section of the box, again, where it turns over (ie on the thinner black part). If you look closely in photo 5 you might be able to make this out. There is also a W H SMITH price sticker on the front of the box’s cover, towards the top right hand corner.Other than that the box is in good, relatively clean condition.
Booklet: VG+...The 40 page booklet is in very good condition with no pen marks etc. There are literally only one or two creases. I have pointed out one crease in particular though, which is on page 30 as it looks almost like a small tear of perhaps 2cm’s. It’s not quite a tear at the moment but it almost could be (see photo 3 in the upper left hand corner).
There are also 3 cellophane inner sleeves for the vinyl’s and all are in excellent condition.
