Before they formed the M Squared label and became members of Scattered Order, the two "M"s (Michael Tee and Mitch Jones) were members of this strange collective called The Barons.
Somehow they managed to convince The Thought Criminals' Doublethink label to release this bizarre collection of tracks which sound like they were recorded in a very small bedroom. It would be an understatement to call the musicianship lacking, and most of it sounds to be ad-libbed.
It's simultaneously magnificent and utterly atrocious.
In a sense this is the first ever M Squared record and somewhat rare I suspect. I picked this one up at the original Utopia Records store in Martin Place. It was tucked away in a 50 cent bargain bin and as I browsed a customer was having a chat with the guy behind the counter about this great new band he had just discovered called Adam and the Ants. Seriously. It's a bizarre memory and this record was forever after linked in my mind with it.
This copy is almost mint apart from some light marks. It plays with very little noise, but I'm guessing you're not buying this one for the high fidelity sound. The sleeve is in great condition.
Anyway, time to pass it on to a new owner. If anyone can afford it!
