Description

Hello and welcome to this auction for a 'Beatles - A Collection of Beatles Oldies' 1969 third press stereo vinyl LP!
This particular pressing is the third pressing from 1969. It features the final Yellow Parlophone label to be used for this release. It was only used for 3-4 months and this wasn't the most popular release during 1969, with Beatles fans opting for Yellow Submarine or Abbey Road as they were the latest releases. Also includes the original EMI sepia advertising inner sleeve!

DO NOT MISS OUT!!

Artist: The Beatles
Title: A Collection of Beatles Oldies
Catalogue Number: PCS 7016
Year: 1969
Number of Tracks: 16
Matrix Numbers: -1G  -1G
Mother Stampers: 2MA  4MR

Condition:
Vinyl (visual): Side 1 - there are a decent amount of scratches and hairline marks on the record, with only one scratch being feelable on the last track, Yellow Submarine (I have play-tested this track below!). It is not a deep scratch - looks like it has been caused by a wandering or slipping stylus. I can only grade it as VERY GOOD- unfortunately. Label is VERY GOOD-. It has a name written above the black and yellow pound sign. May play better than it looks - please read on.                        Side 2 - same as Side 1 with a couple of lightly feelable stylus scratches but no writing on this label.

Audio: I have play-tested Yellow Submarine and it doesn't skip or stick or jump but there are the obvious repetitive pops but this could differ on your system. I have play-tested the first two tracks on either side as I didn't have time to give it a full play-test. I can confirm that there were no playability issues during these 4 tracks. There is some expected crackle and light pops on the run-in but the stereo audio is very punchy and loud! Light crackle in places but nothing gets in the way of the music! These 4 tracks rate as a solid VERY GOOD!

Inner Sleeve: The original sepia EMI advertising inner sleeve is currently in a strong VERY GOOD condition! It has NO RIPS, NO TEARS and NO SPLITS! There is some discolouration, staining and the usual light creases however.

Sleeve: The original 1969 stereo flipback sleeve is currently rated as VERY GOOD-/VERY GOOD. The front of the sleeve has a lovely gloss and shine but it does have some light ringwear and a good portion of laminate creasing. The rear of the sleeve has a slight imprint of the previous owners name on the top left corner of the flipback (only notcieable in certain light and you really have to look for it). It also has the usual slight discolouration and general ageing. The flipbacks are held down tightly with some creasing but nothing serious. The spine is 100% readable with some creasing in places.

As with all the vintage records I sell, I advise a deep clean to enhance the sound quality of the record.
