The Beatles - 'A Hard Day's Night (Extracts from the Album)' EP. GEP 8924.
The Beatles 1964 UK 1st FACTORY SAMPLE DEMO pressing of the 'A Hard Day's Night (Extracts from the Album)' EP. Released on the 6th November 1964, and offered here in wonderful all-round EXCELLENT condition. These initial early factory sample pressings would have usually been given out to reviewers, radio stations or used as quality control within the pressing plant.
Many of The Beatles previous EP's had sold in massive amounts which resulted in them topping the EP charts and even climbing high in the singles chart. This release failed to enter the singles chart AND even failed to reach the top of the EP charts. This can be put down to the release of the LP 'A Hard Day's Night' months earlier in July 1964 from which all the tracks are taken. Why buy the EP when you already have all the tracks on the LP? That very fact has made this one of The Beatles rarer EP's to locate.
Released on the yellow and black Parlophone label. Both vinyl labels feature the 'Sold in the UK....' text, the 'Recording First Published 1964' text and have 'The Parlophone Co Ltd....' rim print. The 'KT' tax code is embossed on the side 1 label. This comes housed within the original sleeve which is in particularly nice condition.
The Matrix numbers are the earliest possible for this release:
Side 1. 7TCE 850-1N KT 1 RR
Side 2. 7TCE 851-1N KT 3 RM
The vinyl is in EXCELLENT condition.
Both labels are in MINT- condition. Both sides have NO spindle marks at all. SIMPLY STUNNING.
The sleeve is in EXCELLENT/EXCELLENT+ condition. Remarkable condition, one of the finest I have ever seen.
