Hello and welcome to this auction for a 'Beatles - A Hard Day's Night 12" 1964 RARE chubby font mono first press with EJ DAY sleeve Parlophone LP vinyl' in overall EXCELLENT condition.
VINYL:-
Visual:
- Side 1 - lightest of hairlines and nothing feelable!! Rated as EXCELLENT/EXCELLENT+! Label is VERY GOOD+.
- Side 2 - same as Side 1!
Audio:
- The audio is currently rated as EXCELLENT!! I have play tested it all the way through and can confirm that there are NO SKIPS, NO JUMPS and NO STICKS on my system! Light background crackle can be heard on the run-ins, in-between tracks and in the quieter passages but it's nowhere near overbearing and once the punchy mono audio begins to play, there are no major issues whatsoever!! This could probably easily be fixed with a deep clean. There is a lot of clarity to the highs and a lot of punch to the lows! Such a fantastic mono mix and this one has definitely been looked after over the years! Loud, crisp and very punchy! Lies extremely flat and plays extremely well!
Original EMITEX inner sleeve is in VERY GOOD/VERY GOOD+ condition! There is one split along the right side seam - approximately 3" long. Record is still housed well! Elsewhere, there are some creases and light age-related discolouration but it's pretty good!
The original mid-sized EJ DAY mono flipback sleeve is 100% intact and houses the record very well. I rate it as VERY GOOD+/EXCELLENT! The front of the sleeve is lovely and glossy and only has a few small laminate creases towards the edges - nothing serious! The opening edge is really nice with no major deterioration or rubbing. The rear of the sleeve is nice and white with some light discolouration to the flipbacks but they are nice and tight and fully intact! The spine is 100% readable, just a little rounded with a few light creases. Also, there is some cornerwear but overall, a great sleeve! NO WRITING, NO GRAFFITI, NO RIPS and NO TEARS!
