Description
Here we have an original copy of The Beatles - Abbey Road which is a 1969 stereo 1st pressing as indicated by the matrix numbers - see photos.
The record has been cleaned in our amazing Degritter ultrasonic cleaner and the vinyl has come up spotlessly clean and shiny with numerous scuffs and hairlines - please see photos which were taken in good natural daylight.
We played the record to test and despite the marks it still plays ok and is enjoyable. There is noise, crackle and some clicks throughout especially between tracks and on the run in but not bad, with decent stereo imagery. The labels are clean - this is the version with the half eaten apple on Side 2.
The outer sleeve is fully laminated with the correctly aligned apple on the rear but no " Her Majesty". It has retained its vibrancy, however there are creases, corner & edge rubbing, plus wear through on the spine. We have popped the record into a brand new poly lined inner sleeve to keep it pristine after cleaning - the original sleeve had split.
Overall a low price start copy that might be a good placeholder for a collector?
