Description
Very nice copy of the 1971 pressing of The Beatles’ Abbey Road LP on Apple / Capitol SO-383. Cropped cover photo with no Her Majesty listed on the back, though it is listed on the labels. George Martin credits on the labels as well. This was an archive copy at a private music library and has a filing sticker at the top left, and also a rare stereo sticker at the top right, one of the last of these stickers used by Capitol, only found on a few random records of the time. The filing sticker is also on the side A label. It was not in a music library that the public used, so this copy wasn’t abused that way! It is a very very nice and clean copy that plays just beautifully. The disc is beautifully shiny and well-kept. There are a couple of light superficial scuffs but they don’t affect the play in any way. There are also a few of those superficial spots that sometimes appear over time on vinyl as a result of it being stored in an acidic paper sleeve, but they are not wear or damage of any sort and of course do not affect the play either. Really this is just about a perfect playing copy, with no pops, ticks, or even background crackle anywhere. Absolutely lovely sound. The cover is remarkably nice as well, with some corner wear at the lower right and just tiny wear at the other ones. A touch of very faint ringwear but barely. Really quite a nice cover, unusual for older copies. Truly a beautiful early copy, hard to beat.
