I have collected records since I was very young, however Iincreasingly I have realised that I have far too many, and soI have been slowly trying to rationalise my extensive collection over the years, I have sold many major rarities over the years, from major BEATLES and 60s rarities, through PUNK and PROG ROCK, CLASSICAL and BLUES. Basically I've had alot of very rare records and in dribs and drabs have sold them off. I've never had negative feedback, and had many repeat customers.
I will only post completely insured and tracked.
Here we have the a lovely Beatles rarity, their very first Christmas Record exclusively for their fan club, which set the tradition for the Fab Four for the rest of their Christmasses together! It was released only to the official Fan Club members, the first run of them was sent inside the gatefold sleeve, a later post Christmas run was sent without the sleeves. Pressed by Lyntone (who presse all f their Christmas special records) there were about 30,000 pressed in totaI, and are now very sought after indeed! t was recorded at the same recording session as produced I Want To Hold Your Hand and This Boy, and the boys are definitely stillbubbling over with the frenetic energy from those sessions as they excitedly thank their fans and the world as a whole for their successful (or "gear") year! It's a one-sided flexi-disc, which runs at 33 1/3 speed. The Newsletter was printed inside the gatefold sleeve,rather than as an insert sheet, as with later Fan Club discs.
Condition: Record: I'm not going to grade this, as,with these flexi-discs, different systems react differently to them,and cartridge weight and set-up can make a massive difference to how they play. Lower quality of sound on these (especially this one-sided 33 1/3 speed,quite long message) definitely shows no matter what your player quality is. This one is generally in nice condition, however,it does have an impression in the earlier rotations (highlighted in the photos), which does affect the flatness of this disc, and whist I remember having got it to play through with some combination of weighting on my lower quality player, playing it now on my higher spec system, without any tweaking at all, it jumps twice at the start of "Good King Wenceslas". Please bid on this with this in mind, it may not play perfectly on your player, or may need a little tweaking of cartridge weight etc. Label: VG+ Really lovely crisp label,still fully stuck, completely free from tears, graffitti or abbrasions,very slight age yellowing around the central spindle hole, really nice! Sleeve: VG- It's got general handling wear, and discolouration,with some abbrasions to the front,possibly where a name has been erased etc? The good news is it still holds together well, and other than whatever has been presumably removed there is no graffitti,both original staples which create the "pocket" for the disc, still hold firm. No missing corners, and apart from a 2cm fail at the top,the spine still holds strong aswell. Not a final upgrade of this very rare disc and sleeve, but it's still definitely decent enough to be proud of in your collection, and it's a hole in your collection you surely need to fill if you haven't already!
