Original 1965 UK pressed Parlophone Records mono LP, PMC 1240.

"Parlophone Co Ltd" etc in upper case to perimeter and "Sold in UK" text.

"Recording First Published" text beneath matrix numbers on labels.

XEX 503-3N / XEX 504-3N matrix numbers, AAG 2 / ADR 4 mothers/stampers.

The 3N/3N is consistent with the first pressing of this LP.

In summary not a mint or even EX issue, but generally an unusually clean and well preserved issue of this LP.

Vinyl still has a good gloss, although revolving the LP under a light source reveals a fair few light hairline marks and scuffs. There are no deep or feelable marks or gouges however, and visually around VG, strictly graded.

The labels still have a very bright and undulled gloss and are free of loss or annotations. There are a few visible light spider trail marks around the spindle areas, and the centre holes are beginning to show just the merest fraction of whitening, but this is not at all obtrusive.

On the whole very acceptable and with no major flaws. The first half of the A side plays very cleanly with only marginal and sporadic background crackle. The second half of the A side has crackle a little more widespread but still well behind the music. The A side has no ticks or clicks.

The B side plays similar to the previously mentioned second half of the A side, with crackle a little more widespread but still well behind the music. One isolated mid-level tick to the middle of "Honey Don't", and a couple of soft marginal ticks to the end of the same track. A few VERY soft ticks to the next track and separator band and the first second or so of "I Don't Want To Spoil The Party". The crackle is a tad more widespread during the last couple of tracks.

Inner sleeve is a poly-lined Emitex which is very well preserved and at least EX. Clean and bright, and without browning. No annotations or marks. Some expected minor creasing consistent with the position of the LP. No seam splits.

Exterior sleeve perhaps just VG minus, but the main panels are well preserved with none of the faults being that harsh on the eye. Front and rear panels still have a fairly high gloss and are free of loss, inscriptions etc. The unusual construction of this sleeve, with the single leaf front panel generally leads to many examples with the front panel being in fairly poor, furled and creased condition. This example is pretty clean with just fractional overall furling. A few minor handling creases, pinchline hairline creases leading in from spine areas and just a touch of separation to material starting to show at corner areas, but generally in very good order. The rear and inner panels are also clean and tidy with just light creasing here and there but no major faults. There is an approx. one inch closed diagonal split running up the rear panel from the foot of the spine. This shows signs of now removed sellotaped reinforcement, without yellowing or tackiness. When pushed shut the tear is tidy and without any whitening evident. Tips are showing some rubbing and wear. The spine is worn through a little at head, foot and centre, with some loss to central title text. The scuffing at centre of spine extends just marginally onto the front panel of the sleeve.

On the whole an issue which has its imperfections, but is generally in somewhat better condition than is the norm for surviving copies.
