'GREY-BOX STEREO' LABELS
EXTREMELY RARE LABEL VARIATION
Every so often, a Beatles LP appears on Ebay which the greater majority of collectors didn't know existed; this is one such LP, The Beatles Greatest Hits Volume 2 with a 'grey-box' STEREO notation on both 'side' labels.
'Grey-box stereo' labels were used sparingly in the latter years of the 'Yellow PARLOPHONE' label series in Australia, and then only on a few titles (Sgt. Peppers..., ...Oldies, and GHV2 are the titles of which I am personally aware).
No collection of Australia Beatles vinyl can be complete without one of these 'grey-box stereo' labelled copies of The Beatles Greatest Hits Volume 2.
CONDITION
VINYL - PLAY
Playback integrity is very good on both sides. No skips or sticks (t/table arm is very light). Some occasional popping and mild surface noise.
VINYL - VISUAL
Visually, the vinyl is VG+. The platter is flat and undished. There is mild surface scoring and handling artefacts; but as is so often the case with 'vintage' vinyl, such artefacting does not equate to disruption of linear playback.
LABELS
See pictures. The name of a former owner is written on the 'Side 1' label. Note that although the name is clear in the provided picture, it's not immediately apparent when holding the album in one's hand (the image accentuates the writing).
