Description
This is the rarely seen first edition of The Beatles debut UK single 'Love me do' c/w P.S. I love you' on Parlophone Records No R4949 issued in 1962 on the early Red label. Matrix numbers in A side run out 7XCE17144-1N plus PZT1 TAX CODE at 9 o'clock GA at 3 o'clock B side 7XCE 17145-1N ZT1 at 9 o'clock only
This is the sought after version with Ringo Starr on drums, a true rarity for any Beatles collection. Condition - A side shows a number of surface marks, one of which is quite pronounced, but it plays much better than it's appearance would suggest, plays through with no skips/jumps, minimal background on the run-in groove and you may catch just a tiny bit of background on the quieter parts, overall decent strong audio. B side is a sound VG+ with no significant issues. The labels are clean with no writings, sticker marks etc. Comes with Parlophone 'wavy line' company sleeve which is in EX condition
