THE BEATLES OFFICIAL FAN CLUB CHRISTMAS RECORD (1963)
This is my personal copy of The Beatles’ Christmas Record, sent out exclusively to Fan Club members only in December 1963. It has been in my possession since then and has hardly seen the light of day – hence it is in excellent condition.
Only 25,000 copies of this disc were pressed giving it, as it says in the sleeve notes, “exceptional souvenir value”.
It is a one-sided flexi-disc of festive songs and personal messages from John, Paul, George and Ringo. The disc is housed in a 185x185mm card folder which opens out to reveal the disc in a stitched side pocket, with a printed Fan Club message from Bettina Rose and Anne Collingham then Joint National Secretaries of the burgeoning Official Beatles Fan Club.
Apart from slight age-discolouration of the buff-coloured folder and minor creasing in the top right hand corner of the folder, this is an exceptional example of this rare and sought after item.
The disc itself plays exceptionally well for flexi-vinyl (at 33? rpm) with no scratches or jumps – and the record label still maintains its bright white colour with no age-discolouration and no visible marks.
