Description
A very nice 5th state 1st issue copy of the Beatles debut album, PMC 1202 with matrix to side one. XEX 421-1N mother.....1/4......TA and to side two...XEX 422-1N mothers......4.....TM
Vinyl...heavy and thick,shows paper wisps and a few light shallow hairlines to platter, most noticeably on side two on last 3 tracks, this does not effect play...in fact the album plays excellent plus, with clean sounding intro's, nice clear track separation with no annoying egg crackle din or repetitive loud clicks, sounds great...with the "Parlophone Co" rim credit and "recording first published 1963" at 9. 0 clock on label....(see picture close up for details)....there is some very occasional light, and I mean light, crackle on "A taste of honey" but nothing serious or off putting, not horrendous loud egg frying crackleplease note..I only mention to be totally transparent...
The Ernest J Day sleeve is excellent, with tri folded rear card back showing the barest signs of its 50 year plus heritage, small sticker on back, the large MONO front cover is unmarked and in superbly clean condition, with no creasing or crackle to semi laminated surface, no shelf rub,ring wear or feathered opening edge..after a cursory look at others for sale/auction, I doubt there is a cleaner sleeve available around these parts !!...very nice indeed...
Please note on photo close up of EJ Day credit there looks like a split to fold over, this is not so and just a crease....this LP as been stored in a protective plastic sleeve all these years...
Clear legible spine....comes with original un-split " use emitex" tracing paper lined inner...
Considering its age, this LP is in remarkable condition, particularly audio wise, it really does swing and rock Dadd-io !!
Update... just been told my pictures look a bit grainy and to clean my camera lens, it was a bit dirty, so please forgive quality of afore mentioned snaps, thanks Jamie, Darling.
