Rare 1963 South African press of The Beatles’ classic, timeless debut Please Please Me, made on the navy-blue old-school Parlophone label (PMCJ 1202)
It is quite tough to get these copies from SA in even a Vg grade! But this is one of those few :-) The sleeve is in very nice condition and by far, one of the better copies you will find for this album coming from SA. Defects are very minimal - clean, legible and sharp spine, solid edges, vivid colours etc. Front cover is great! The back does exhibit very light ring-wear on the left part of the back cover, few and faint discoloration here and there, but overall still fairly– the cover still looks very good and remarkably cared for considering its over 50-year old age!
The vinyl is in VG++ condition, not far from EX. Very few copies of this LP can be found like this so this is rare. Shiny, black gloss on most of the surface. Some very few, faint light hair-lines under bright inspection on both sides, though nothing more than this, and again still better than most PPM’s from SA. The centre labels are overall VG+, with just a light tape impression on Side 2 only.
A great addition for 60’s & more so Beatles collectors worldwide, being a rare find in a seldom very very good shape!!
