Eight (sixth pressing) type 2 (a&b) labels, 1965 until late 1966. 'Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd.' front laminated cover, with small “mono” on front. Black label with yellow logo and silver print. “The Gramophone Co. Ltd.” printed at the start perimeter print and “Sold in UK…” text. Tracing-paper-lined “Use Emitex” die-cut or plaine white inner sleeves. With KT tax code on the label side 2. Matrix numbers: Side 1: XEX 421-1N; Side 2: XEX 422-2N (On side 2 letter “N” is strongly pressed in the surface of the vinyl. This unique feature is possible to see on all later mono presses until 1982. (see pics No.9).The (XEX.421) & ®1963 have also been aligned. COVER SLEEVE: Sleeves for the iconic debut Beatles album "Please Please Me" (mono) did two London’s of printing house: 'Ernest J. Day & Co Ltd.' and 'Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. Patents Pending' This issue has a sleeve made by 'Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. Patents Pending' with small front logo 'mono'. Wrap-around cover. Straight-cut corner.  "Photo: Angus McBean" credit was moved to the left, compared to the first 'Gold' type cover. The word "mono" is small type. The front of full laminated 'Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. Patents Pending' is intact and clear, without any signs and tears, showing light signs of wear in minor places at edges. Rear panel of the  Sleeve is strong, intact and clear, and it still retains natural light color, without any signs, (slight coloration small mark in the upper right back corner) with very well-preserved inscription 'Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. Patents Pending'. Catalog No. "PMC 1202" was printed on upper right corner of the back cover. Spine is mint, well squared and round pinchedvery clear legible, edges are strong and laminated, no wear damages.( see pics.) EXCELLENT(+) condition. (see pics No.7)

VINYL RECORD:

VISUAL: This is the original medium thicker, moderately heavy and more flexible slab of vinyl, only found like this on the original pressings, from the period of 1965-1969. (Note: Later vinyl press are much more flimsier and less robust than 1st press). It has remained very dark and glossy and ‘looks’ as if it has received little play. The vinyl itself is in excellent visual condition, glossy surface, without any deeper scratches in result, that it has been most probably stored and played very carefully. There is on side 2 one visible short scratch, which is not something disturbing  Also there is a couple very light marks and hardly visible light scuffs, that do not affect audio quality. Some minor traces of insertion and removal of records from the bag, they usually has and best preserved records of the inner sleeve use. The record lays flat on the turntable. Near excellent visual condition. For better precision: EXCELLENT(-) !!!
AUDUO: On both sides of the vinyl it plays fantastic from start to finish, crystal, clear deep MONO sound with NO any deterioration. NO skips/jumps, NO repeats! There is occasionally between some songs very light clicks, some of them very likely as a result of 'static' reason and some pops/clicks on first credit side A. Sound quality is precise EXCELLENT !!!

LABELS: 8th PRESS - type (a/b). Black and Yellow Parlophone Type 6-2 label with silver print, without Recording Published Credit, with "Sold in U.K. subject to resale price conditions, see price list" statement printed at the center of the label. Tax code is "K and T" on side 2. The song titles and the artist's name were printed in "Sans Serif" type. This ran alongside 8th press type 1 and type 3, and was pressed on a second machine, that produced stampers 1,5 RHH / 6 GR. Still very early and rare 2nd machine mothers/stampers for this debut Beatles edition. This 52-year old original issue is intact and clear, has light spindle marks, but has no serious spindle hole wears! No any signatures, names or inscriptions. There is only one remark on side 1 label: there is a trace/mark remained by unstuck sticker, which is not so annoying and tamped in the eyes. (see pic. No.10/12) EXCELLENT(-) conditions.

The most important are the two features that make this record very valuable and rare:

a. have the additional DOT (or period mark) in the "Sold in the .U.K. subject to resale etc." on side 1. (see pic. No.2)

b. missing Dot on label Side 2 between "5" & "A Taste of Honey"! (see pic. No.3)

INNER SLEEVE: Original Polythene-lined “Use Emitex” die-cut inner sleeve. "Use Emitex" Sleeve Type-2 (1963 --?). Words "PATENTS APPLIED FOR" in the left bottom side of the front sleeve. Words 'MADE IN ENGLAND' is printed in the right bottom side of the front sleeve. MINT CONDITION. This sleeve was made in a thinner material than type-1, used by EMI until 1963.

VERY COLECTIBLE LP RECORD, EXCELLENT CONDITION !!!  Do not miss this VERY RARE 8th PRESS - type (a/b) label record with EXTRA DOT (or period mark) in the "Sold in the .U.K. subject to resale... etc." on Side 1, and MISSING DOT on label Side 2 between credit "5" & "A Taste of Honey"!!!
