This is a copy of the scarce Decca 'contract' mono pressing of Please Please Me, dating from 1965 ( the time that 'small mono' sleeves housed this LP).
Demand for the Beatles albums Help! and Rubber Soul was so significant that EMI's own pressing plant could not produce back-catalogue Beatles LP's in sufficient quantity; and so production of Please Please Me (and With The Beatles, at least) vinyl was contracted-out to rival company, Decca.
Decca contract LP's are instantly identified by their conspicuous indented ring toward the outer edge of the label area.
These so-called, 'contract pressings' were produced in smaller numbers than the EMI counterpart and so are, logically enough, a desirable item for the collector.
CONDITION
VINYL - PLAY
Both sides play through without jumping or sticking (light tone-arm setting).
The listening experience ranges from VG to VG+. 'Crackle' and 'popping' can be heard at various places on both sides of the record but is not consistent/present throughout.
VINYL - VISUAL
This record presents visually as VG condition. The platter is flat (no warping or dishing). Surface scoring is visible on both sides but record does not present as trashed.

SLEEVE
Refer to hi-res (on mouseover) front/rear sleeve images and decide your own grading.
A horizontal split to the spine is present on the 's' of the second 'Please' of the title. The bottom side-opening seam has a 1cm split. The side-opening edges are bumped but not fluffed.
