Very Rare Decca Contract Pressing
Very Rare Ernest J. Day Sleeve
Original 1963 Mono Album.
DECCA CONTRACT PRESSING WITH EXTREMELY RARE LABEL. THESE DO NOT OFTEN COME UP AT ALL. ADD THE FACT THAT IT HAS AN ALMOST AS RARE ERNEST J. DAY SLEEVE AND YOU HAVE A VERY SCARCE AND SORT AFTER PIECE OF VYNAL!
Why is this edition so Rare?
The label is very different to a normal label. There is a 15mm ridge from the outer edge of the label, denoting a Decca Contract Pressing. There is no common "sold in the UK" text on the label which can be seen on most labels.
Due to very high demand, Parlophone were forced at the time to contract out, even to their bitter rivals - Decca. Only a very small ammount were produced by Decca making this pressing very very scarce.
Around the rim of the label has THE PARLOPHONE CO. LTD which is present on copies from April 1963 until the end of that year only.
The vast majority of these album sleeves were made by Garrott + Lofthouse Ltd (G&L) but the rarer ones such as this one, were made by Ernest J.Day.
Both Sleeve and Vynal are in well used condition, as can be seen in the photos. The vynal itself is very scratched. Both however are all intact and in on piece. The label is nice and clear.
