Both labels omit the 'Sold in UK..' but carry 'Parlophone Co...' rims
NO tax/price code is visible on the side one label.
Housed in a correct front laminated, flipback 'Ernest J. Day..' cover, with the 'Angus McBean' credit in the extreme right corner.
Complete with original 'Use Emitex' clear poly-lined inner-sleeve
Grading & Condition of Vinyl & Sleeve
Disc(s) Condition = EX+(SIDE 1) - EX-(SIDE 2) (under strong light there are visible wispy lines,SIDE 2 let down by a feelable with the nail light scratch however runs mainly along a groove in track2 as opposed to running from the outer rim to inner rim!,played this section twice & could hear no noticeable difference, the run out grooves are excellent with only light whispy lines, there is usual light surface noise between tracks & the intros as expected of an ex grading ,no skipping or jumping plays through fine)
Labels Condition = EX+ (no writing or stickers, centre spindle indicates how few plays this has received in its life, with little visible wear)
Sleeve Condition = EX-(Fully legible spine, light wear to the extremities, the lower right corner is probably the least graded with more visible wear, crease to fron laminate lower front, but no inscription i have seen many worse sleeves than this original, entrance clean & tight showing how few plays this has received in 50+ years!!)
Inner Sleeve = Original 'emitex' inner of the period
Inserts or Extras Condition = As above
Sound Quality = 8.5/10 (played on marantz deck, being the 1st mono's very clear and punchy,no sticking or jumping as expected for grading, only minimal unavoidable background noise between tracks)
+ & - are added to grades to make them finer.
S before a symbol denotes small/slight
Record Collector grading system used
MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and / or defaced.
POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
As well as the above grades, Near Mint is often used as well; this is really for a record that appears new but is known to have been played because the label has light spindle marks or because it has come from a previous owner and is assumed to have been played by them. For records which appear to fall between the accepted grades, + and - are also often added to the grading.
