Description
Many thanks for your interest in my records! I've collected records for over 30 years and as such sometimes take stock and realise how many duplicates I have accrued, and how many records I no longer listen to. I grade using the RRPG Record Collector grading system, though feel that I grade down if anything, please check my feedback for proof of this! I have sold many records (some incredibly rare ones in the 4 figures) over the years, so please rest assured that my gradings have been satisfactory so far! Though, If you have any concerns, please don't hesitate to contact me before leaving negative feedback. I haven't had negative feedback so far, and don't intend to start now if I can at all help it!
I'll combine records for the same price for up to 3 disks (double LPs count as 2!), and at as reduced a rate as I can beyond that! International bidders please ask, as I'll send them as cheaply as possible for you,but they must be sent tracked and insured.
The handful (11) of 60s LPs by the Beatles Stones and Kinks that I'm listing this afternoon (not all my other listings!) are lesser condition copies, but still will be desirable to people, at somepoint they will have been a copy in my collection,or a stop-gap copy until the real thing came along! Please note that my other listings are all very nice, I'm just clearing a bit of shelf space of playable, but lesser copies this afternoon!
THE BEATLES Please Please Me RARE DECCA CONTRACT PRESS UK 1963 PMC 1202
Here we have a very rare contract pressing of the Beatles debut LP. Whilst Decca let them slip through their grasp mere moths prior to this, they did, nevertheless get to press a few of the Fab Four's vinyl outputs on contract to EMI,when EMI couldn't keep up with demand, most commonly with some of the single titles, but also LPs. Quite uncommon, and yet still the most common of them is With the Beatles, but (dicounting Export LPs) the rarest in my experience is Please Please Me, and here we have one!
... OK that was the good news! This is a rare contract Beatles LP,which is missing frommost collectors' collections. The down-side is that this copy is that it has a fair dusting of light surface marks/hairlines, and a handful of these, though still not deep, are more visually noticable. The playback is actually pretty decent, which these early 60s LPs often impress me with! They knew how to make them to last in those days eh?!
Record Conditon: Visually G+/VG- not the mirror perfection you'd like it to be, but is deffinitely a decent gap filler until you find that perfect DECCA PPM contract pressing!
Audibly: obviously every player and cartridge set-up reacts differently to records with marks, be they surface or scratches, but on my players, audibly, I wouldn't ever guess that this was the same record plays great with just a little crackle in the sparcer passages and silences between the songs. It's still a long way away from being an audiophile copy! But it's actually very decent!
Sleeve Condition: VG-/VG Similar, not bad, free from any graffiti, significant tears etc, though as is often the case with this popular LP, there is a fair amount of general handling wear. Also the top flip-back tab has clearly come away, and been mended with sellotape, which I think would do more harm than good to remove!
