Description
The Beatles Rubber Soul 1st Stereo Pressing
Cat. No. PCS 3075
The item is overall in very nice condition, it has been handled well and it is in very respectable condition, guaranteed for buyer to be happy with it!
Its a -2/ -2 Matrices (First ever) with 1 G (Side 1) and 1 R (Side 2) mother’s & stampers; so one of the first ever off the pressing machines!
I’ve never seen another version as early as this come up on eBay before. So this is probably a once in a lifetime opportunity now, there really can’t be many of these in existence.
Condition of the sleeve is Very Good To Very Good Plus, it is fully intact with no repairs or splits etc. It is a little off-white on the rear panel and there are few thumbnail creases to the laminate on the front panel. Other than that it’s really neat and sturdy and strong, with no edge wear and no major corner wear and the laminate retains its gloss and shine. Fold-over’s are sound. It is of course the first type with the tear on John Lennon’s jacket visible.
Condition of the vinyl is a very strong Very Good, verging Very Good Plus. There is nothing which spoils the overall look, in fact it is very respectable and is immediately obvious it will play well. It projects a bright mirror-like shine all over, has no detractions such as groove wear, needle drops, scratches, warps etc. However, it does have very barely visible coverage with feint wispy hairlines which reveal themselves under light. Has clearly only been played in moderation and handled well.
The correct and original EMI tracing liner inner sleeve is also included, in a Very Good condition with no splits, just minor discolouration, and with a neat opening seam.
Labels are nice as only have minimal spindle lines etc, and no defects such as writing etc. The spindle point perimeter is extremely neat with minimal wear. Yellow font still bright and bold. Grades Excellent.
The audio is great, would say Very Good Plus. There is a little non-distracting background interference in some of the the run-in's and fade-out's and quieter sections throughout but it is pretty much faultless, there was no pick-up of tics or background interference over the main body of music in any track on my equipment. No detractions such as sticks, skips, jumps, pops. Deep, warm, bass with lucid instrumentals and bright and clear vocals with stark original Stereo channeling. The epitome of The Beatles in their psychedelic phase.
I take the packaging of LP’s with the utmost of care and consideration, and use I the best on the market packaging and I add extra protection too. You will treasure this item!
