ALBUM DETAILS
THE BEATLES - Rubber Soul LP (1965) EX- copy PARLOPHONE label PMC 1267
Here is a near excellent condition (EX-) 1st pressing mono copy of this classic album from The Beatles.
The dead wax matrix numbers are :
Side 1 XEX 579 - 4 Side 2 XEX 580 - 4
THE VINYL
The appearance and overall condition of the flat and nicely weighted vinyl is near excellent (EX-). Each side is bright and retains its original black sheen. Only under closer inspection and under bright light are some fine surface markings and other faults visible. There is a small 'feelable' light scratch across Tracks 2 and 3 on Side One that causes a few light clicks on Track 3, but it is not too intrusive and doesn't affect play. Also there is a light scuff across the vinyl on Side Two (see photo 7). It doesn't look the best, but it doesn't cause any surface noise or affect play. There is just a small amount of very light surface noise on the dead wax between some tracks, but other than what has been described there are no other clicks, pops or jumps. Both sides play through perfectly.
THE LABELS
The labels are excellent plus (EX+) with white text upon the smooth black/yellow label and the iconic Parlophone logo. The only blemishes are just a hint of a few spindle hole marks.
THE SLEEVE
The condition of the 1st pressing laminated outer sleeve is Excellent minus (EX-). The front has some blotching of the laminate, but it is not split or damaged except for a tiny bit of laminate lift to the top right corner. Otherwise just some light wear to the opening edge and the bottom corner. The spine is perfect and shows the album title and artist clearly. The back is excellent and the only defects are a small 'w' towards the top left corner, and the remnants of what looks like an old shop sticker on the bottom flipback. You will see these issues clearly if you zoom in on the photos.
THE SOUND
The quality of the audio is excellent (EX). Despite the light surface noise I have mentioned above, the album plays with a lovely tone and clarity throughout, even at higher volume. No repeats or sticks and barely any surface noise - just a little at the quiet points between tracks as I've mentioned. Every track plays brilliantly, from the opening track "Drive My Car" on Side One to the rocking "Run For Your Life" which finishes Side Two.
Comes with a nice original poly-lined inner sleeve with no rips or tears and remaining fully functional.
Note: The record will be posted using an alternative white replacement inner sleeve for shipping purposes in order to protect the original.
PLEASE NOTE REGARDING LP RECORDS
We always do EVERYTHING POSSIBLE to grade our LP records accurately, but you must bear in mind that unless you are buying a vinyl record that is SEALED, or in NEAR-MINT condition, there will always likely be some type of surface sound, or background noise somewhere on the vinyl, better known as pops or light crackling. If an LP has been played a couple of times, it can never be perfect. This is especially noticeable in classical and jazz records, which have quiet passages. You are buying vinyl LPs because they sound better than CDs, however the pops and crackling come with an LP.
