Description

Many thanks for your interest in my records! I've collected records for over 30 years and as such sometimes take stock and realise how many duplicates I have accrued, and how many records I no longer listen to. I grade using the RRPG Record Collector grading system, though feel that I grade down if anything, please check my feedback for proof of this! I have sold many records (some incredibly rare ones in the 4 figures) over the years, so please rest assured that my gradings have been satisfactory so far! Though, If you have any concerns, please don't hesitate to contact me before leaving negative feedback. I haven't had negative feedback so far, and don't intend to start now if I can at all help it!
I'll combine records for the same price for up to 3 disks (double LPs count as 2!), and at as reduced a rate as I can beyond that! International bidders please ask, as I'll send them as cheaply as possible for you,but they must be sent tracked and insured.

THE BEATLES SGT. PEPPER'S has to be one of the most iconic and enigmatic LPs of 20th Century popular culture. I will not waste your time here, as to run through why this is and what social impact it had and continues to have. To date American sales of this album alone are in excess of 11 million! How then is a copy "RARE"!

Well this is one of the rarest 1960s copies there exists of this LP and I'llexplain why...

As the 1960s came to an end, Parlophone (and EMI as a whole) were experimenting with moderninsing their label designs. First, in mid 1969, as pricing lists became redundant they dropped the "Sold in U.K. subject to..." text from below the yellow Parlophone text. Also dropping the centrally embossed tax codes. They released all of the original Parlophone LPs in this format, but then as 1969 came to a close they decided on a completely new design for a new decade, and they devloped what are now known as "one box" labels, that is black labels, with mainly silver text, though the once Yellow "PARLOPHONE" text is now smaller, white, and inside of a silver box. Also there is a single white box at the bottom of the label with "EMI" written in white text within it. Just as the decade was dying, at the end of 1969 EMI re-issued allof the original Parlophone LPs with this label format. THESE WERE THE VERY FINAL 1960s ISSUES OF THE BEATLES PARLOPHONE ALBUMS, all in STEREO, and all of which are rather sought after now. HOWEVER! Though it was generally agreed that MONO was dead and buried by now, EMI decided to print 3 of the BEATLES PARLOPHONE LPS with this new label format in MONO available to special order for those who requested it, they were HELP!, SGT. PEPPER'S and PLEASE PLEASE ME, all of which are extremely hard to find, the fact that SGT PEPPERS is less impossible to find than the other two IN NO WAY undermines how rare this LP is! They were only available for a fewmonths, before the MONOs were  discontinued and the STEREO copies got afurther update, and got a second EMI box above the PARLOPHONE TEXT,sobecoming "TWO BOX"copies! THIS IS AN EXTREMELY RARE LP! A One Box Mono of any Beatles title is high up on most serious collectors lists! So here I offer you one such record! SGT PEPPER'S IN ALL IT'S ONE BOX MONO GLORY!

RECORD CONDITION: VG, lovely surfaces with just some general light surface hairlines across the vinyl, and a handful of more marks visible in normal light. Side 1 is very nice, Side 2 has the most visible of these which is ever so slightly feelable when running your fingernail across it, however the audio is still strong, and apart from the odd tick, and some light background noise in the quietest moments, it's still lovely!

LABEL CONDITIONS: EX-, Really clean, lovely and crisp, completely free from graffitti, stains or tears, carefully handled just a handful of light spindle marks located around the central spindle holes visible when angled into direct light. These all important labels are great crisp examples of the extremely rare and  very final 60s MONO labels!

SLEEVE CONDITION: VG+ Really nicely looked after gatefold sleeve, completely free from Graffitti/stains/tears, apart froma very small abbrasion at 12 o'clock on the back cover, and minor corner rub, this has been handled extremely carefully. the flip backs are all crisp, and edges and mouth edges are all crisp, the spine is undamaged and fully legible. Really very nice!

INSERT CONDITION: EX, really clean and crisp, absolutely beautiful,in fact apart froma very light handling indent at the bottom right, theres no evidence of it ever having been removed from the sleeve! A real Beauty!
