THE BEATLES: SGT PEPPERS LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND
Lovely 1st Edition copy of Sgt Pepper on the 1st Yellow and Black Parlophone Label complete with Fools inner and Cut Out insert (see below for full grading).
KT Tax stamp to side 1. Label features “Sold in UK…” & “The Gramophone…” text.

GRADING
SLEEVE: EX
Fully Laminated Garrod & Lofthouse Gatefold sleeve is in superb condition. The surfaces are bright and clean with no peeling or fading. There is some slight wear to the bottom corners. The edges are sharp and crisp with the spine being fantastic with all text legible and clean. The inside of the gatefold is near perfect.
The Psychadelic inner is in superb condition with no splits, fold or tears and would also grade as EX.
Cut Out inner is of the correct Dark Green 1st Pressing colouring and grades as EX+ being that it appears to have never have been removed from the sleeve. No scuffs, tears, folds or discolouration.
RECORD: VG
The heavyweight vinyl looks great with some light hairlines visible to each side. The record retains its deep lustre. The labels are in superb condition with no fading or scuffing the only defect being a catalogue sticker.
The record plays through superbly. There is some light background that is more audible during quieter passages. There are no loud repetitive pops or clicks. The album sounds fantastic with a depth a clarity only available on early pressings.
The above record grading is based on Record Collector magazine system:
MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
