New & Sealed Vinyl Record
Record Label: Capitol SMAS 2653
1967 Stereo Pressing. There is a price sticker From the West Coast chain, Music Plus on the cover as well as a Capitol Hype sticker that says, "The Original Classic". No reference to "a subsidiary of Capitol Industries, Inc." that is noted on some 1968 releases and all 1969 releases.
Condition: Record is new and still sealed in it's original plastic shrink-wrap. Only flaw is a small section of shrink torn near the center on the spine/ Small and almost unnoticeable.

Review: Widely regarded as one of the greatest recordings of all time, and has since been recognized as one of the most important albums in the history of popular music. In 1994 it was ranked number one in the book All Time Top 1000 Albums. In 2003, the album was placed at number one on Rolling Stone magazine's list of "The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time". It is also one of the world's best selling albums, having shipped 32 million copies.
Maclen Music and NEMS are on the back cover, bottom right. Did a little more research and, it seems, this is one of the hardest Beatle LPs to identify if completely sealed. Here's some info I got from experts/collectors sites:

The very first run stereo pressings do not list the pressing plants or the "NEMS" info, however that info was added during the initial run. I went and looked in my "archives" (lol) and looked pretty hard at all the pressings again. The last Apple ALL RIGHTS pressing actually has a yellow border on the back cover as well. All other pressing, originals, subsidiaries,green labels and early Apple labels all have the same style covers. You are in a tough bind here. Could be a 1967 press or any other up to 1971 or so......

Anyway, after looking at the photos, since it has the info about Maclen and NEMS on the back cover, it's not the very first pressing but it's still possibly from 1967. The pressing plants were always there since the beginning, they weren't added in later.

Things I can say with certainty: This has not been re-shrink-wrapped because you can see the breathe holes in the plastic. It is NOT a first pressing, but it could still be of 1967 vintage. Every other version of Sgt. Pepper I have seen with the hype sticker has been an early pressing. Since it is impossible to tell if there is a psychedelic inner sleeve, or even what the label looks like, anything that would prove differently is tightly wrapped inside the LP.
