Description
Vintage 12-inch vinyl LP of SGT. PEPPER'S LONELY HEART CLUB BAND by THE BEATLES – please see below for detailed individual grading info.
UK Mono first pressing in laminated gatefold sleeve (Narrow Spine version), catalogue number PMC 7027.
Really solid Mono mix which makes for a fuller listen than the Stereo release and reveals multiple instrumentation and production details which I had personally never noticed before while listening to this album!
Primary identifiers for this pressing (all present):
* A Garrod & Lofthouse laminated gatefold cover (flipback glue-tabs on inner spread);
* A 'cut-outs' card insert (full-colour, single-sided. Printed signatures of Blake/Haworth at foot);
* A black and yellow logo label with silver text:
* "The Gramophone Co." in the radial text and "Sold in U.K. Subject To Resale Price Conditions, See Price Lists" across label at centre, with "Made in Gt. Britain" at foot.
PLEASE NOTE: the original red half-tone print on white 'psychedelic' inner sleeve is NOT included here. This copy has a plain white inner sleeve, as shown in photos.

I was made redundant during the pandemic, following which my partner and I were generously gifted some of my Mum & Dad’s vinyl records to help raise some extra funds (they no longer own a record player and have no use for them, having kept them in storage for a number of years). Many are early UK pressings of classic “British invasion” Beat and Rock’n’Roll albums from the 1960s - check out my other items, as I'm selling more vinyl from the 60s/70s and am happy to combine postage for multiple purchases!
GRADING & CONDITION INFO – PLEASE READ IN FULL BEFORE BIDDING/PURCHASE!
ALL RECORDS HAVE BEEN PLAYED THROUGH FROM START TO FINISH TO ASCERTAIN THEIR CONDITION PRIOR TO LISTING. While the grading of vinyl always retains a degree of subjectivity due to different people’s interpretations of the criteria, they have been graded to a standard that I would personally be happy receiving as a (quite fussy!) purchaser/collector. I use a (+) and (-) system to try and give a slightly more accurate grade where applicable.
Advisory grading is therefore as follows -
VINYL (visual grade): Ex- (a few minor/superficial surface marks which do not affect the play. Superficial spindle scuff-marks to inner labels which are only really visible in the light.)
VINYL (play quality): Ex (light surface crackle in a handful of places – basically just general vinyl surface noise! A handful of small pops on the long chord at the end of ‘A Day In the Life’ – noticeable but not intrusive. Clean with no jumps on my turntable.)
SLEEVE: VG+ (light surface laminate creasing and scuffing in a few places on front and back covers. Light scuffing/fraying to edges and corners from general storage. A few scratches on back cover. Yellowing/discolouration to spine from age. Light/superficial surface ringwear to top of cover. Overall: very solid – see photos for detail.)
INNER: Ex (light yellowing/discolouration to plain inner sleeve from age)
INSERT: Ex (intact and unmarked)
* Please be aware that the play-quality of any vinyl record is always dependent on stylus sensitivity and the quality of the owner’s audio equipment, so it is impossible to be 100% accurate with grading veracity (my own home set-up is a fairly modest SoundLab turntable, Lepai mini-amp and 2 x Bose speakers). I have therefore done my best to flag any potential issues for the sake of transparency, but can obviously only grade records based on the sound coming from my own equipment!
Due to my personal circumstances, I cannot give refunds or accept returns (particularly if requests are based on subjective interpretations of grading criteria), so please ensure that you have read the item description in full before buying and are satisfied with this.
