Description
THE BEATLES, WHITE ALBUM 1968 PMC 7067/8, NUMBERED TOP OPENER VG/VG. Serial Number: 0118138. Dark green labels. Complete with original black inners, poster and 4 pictures.
Side 1/2, ‘An EMI Recording’ ‘Sold in U.K...... ’. Matrix no. YEX 709-1 & 710-1. Side 3/4, ‘An EMI Recording’ ‘Sold in U.K......’. Matrix no. YEX 711-1 & 712-2.
Sleeve: VG
Original gatefold sleeve is VG condition. The front and rear are slightly yellowed around the edges and all 8 corners have some fraying. Despite this, the front displays very few other blemishes, a neatly repaired tear to the top right corner, a disc ring which can be seen in the light, and the odd little crease here and there to the laminate. Otherwise there are no scuffs or marks, the embossed ‘THE BEATLES’ is very clean and prominent and the serial number distinct. The inside is remarkably clean, without yellowing, and with very few blemishes. The rear is also very clean, without any scuffs or marks and only the odd crease to the laminate that you can pick up in the light. The laminate on the spine has split and there are two small scuffs near the bottom, despite this, ‘The Beatles Stereo PCS 7067-8 Mono 7067-8’ text can still be read. I have tried to describe the sleeve as it is; it is by no means perfect but still very respectable.
Inners:
Comes complete. Inner sleeves are original black apple versions with some tears and creasing. Four photographs are mint. The poster has some slight water damage but otherwise without any rips or tears and with sharp corners.
Disks: VG
All sides have a clear, sharp and crisp sound and play through without any jumps or skips. There is some background crackle on the quiet sections and in between tracks however, it does not detract from the sound quality. The records all retain original gloss sheen and have been thoroughly cleaned but all four sides do have a few visible surface marks. The labels are clean without writing, have little spindle ware and retain their original bright colours. Overall an enjoyable record to listen to.
All in all a nice record. Ideal for someone starting out collecting Beatles records, or someone just looking for a nice copy to listen to.
