NOVEMBER 1968 PRESSING

The Sleeve: Top loading sleeve in Very Good condition, fully laminated with only some minor signs of shelf wear on two corners. All text legible and pictorials clear and glossy and has held original colour well. Inside the gatefold is Excellent; smooth, glossy and clean with clear print and unblemished black & white square pictorials of each band member. 'The BEATLES' logo on the front is embossed and raised as it was on all first issue sleeves, and the number is in the 7 digit format also embossed and raised. The laminate along the length of the spine is mainly intact but has frayed a little near to the top, and all original title and catalogue number text is legible. The sleeve is firm and flat and intact, including the inner partition. There is a small tear on the opening side rear panel which has been well repaired, and is quite well hidden as it lies near to the spine crease line. The sleeve is sturdy and firm holding the records and inserts well.

No handwriting or marks. Inner Sleeves: Very Good Plus condition inner sleeves.

The 1st pressings of the White Album came with plain black inner sleeves with the label window on one side only, and one bottom edge corner having a wider slant that the opposite bottom corner.

Both are both still sturdy and hold the vinyl's well. No handwriting or marks.

Poster: Excellent Minus Condition. No blemishes, and no tears or rips, and has survived extremely well. Some light wear on two fold lines top and bottom section hard to see. No handwriting or marks. The Four Portrait Photographs: Excellent Minus Condition, no corner creases, and hardly ever removed from the sleeve. Colour rub marks on the white reverse on two of them. No handwriting or marks.

The Vinyl: The vinyl surfaces are consistently in a strong Very Good Condition, or better. There are no feelable or deep scratches on either side of either discs, a couple of sides have a long stylus superficial surface hairline marks/mainly viewable under strong light But one or two more noticeable. The vast majority of the disc areas are blemish free. There are no scuffs or warps or dinks in the vinyl or anything that causes any interruption to the audio. The glossy sheen is still present and there are no areas of dulling or groove wear. The records have received a moderate of amount plays commensurate with age and are in a far over average condition, projecting a bright shine from their original pressing. On the surfaces and under bright light you can see wispy type stylus marks mainly near outer edges or run-out centre, but nothing adversely affects the audio a smooth there is no groove wear and no obvious marks.

The records lay completely flat on the turntable.

Robust Sixties vinyl's weighing at around 162 grams.

Labels vary in condition but are mainly Very Good Plus or Excellent, except Side 3which has some scuffing. All text is clear and bright, the perimeter area around the spindle location is neat on most with hardly any wear and any spindle line traces are limited within the central groove ring and feint.

The Audio: The audio grades at Very Good Plus.

Both discs play through clearly on both sides, no background noises. This LP has mostly an Excellent playback. There are some static type ticks which can be heard now and again, and audible surface noise on Side 3 which lets it down a little but this is mainly where to be expected i.e. the quieter parts on some tracks and preceding and succeeding the songs. Plays throughout without interruptions such as pops, skips, jumps, clicks, or sticks, offering  a crisp and smooth original stereo rendition of which many critics regard as The Beatles finest masterpiece.

The vinyl sides 1, 2, 3 and 4 are all from the very first stereo master recording and none are from the second master recording. The mother stamps are quite low and the labels are without 'An EMI Recording' on LP 1 with darker Apples, but with the and with the EMI text on LP 2 . The labels which omit the text were printed in November 1968 as the 1st variation type for just a few weeks. The number on the sleeve is  low for a Stereo pressing - it is well known that numbers 0000001-0300000 were reserved for Mono and some exports, and that 0300001-0600000 were reserved for Stereo. These factors indicate that this is a first Pressing during the crossover so probably end of November 1968.

 This LP will be securely delivered in a professional cardboard LP mailer with cardboard stiffeners.

New plain black generic poly-lined inner sleeves will house the records as shown, and the originals will be placed separately.

A new protective PVC 180 gsm gatefold sleeve is included as shown to house the LP.

This White Album will be delivered by recorded delivery in the UK.
