The Beatles : With The Beatles 7N / 7N 2nd Mono Press 1964

This second mono pressing is, in a word, stunning!  The clarity, depth and power of the audio is phenomenal and the audio definition really is of the highest standard.  Ok it's not a first pressing but I honestly believe you will not find a more 'high end' version than this, it is one for the completists and easily qualifies as a FINAL UPGRADE archive classic.  Put simply there is no interference, no background at all and this is another Beatles album (from the same previous owner) that has been lovingly preserved for 63 years.  Even the two final tracks on each side play with great clarity and very little inner groove distortion.  The warmth and depth on the early mono pressings is greater than what you find on the stereo versions and that is kind of enhanced when you find a vinyl that is so clean and only lightly played.  It truly is an exceptional copy and as you would expect the vinyl is in lovely condition also.

The laminated G & L Patents Pending cover is a work of art!  It has also been so well looked after and has retained its original shape and structure perfectly.  It is unbelievably clean with no obvious wear and the original poly-lined Emitex inner has only some age related fading.

This second pressing has the 7N/7N matrix and 'The Parlophone Co Ltd...' text around the label rims plus 'Recording First Published 1963'.  'You Really Got A...' is correct on the S2 label but is still 'Gotta' on the cover and it has the Dominion credit for 'Money'.

The vinyl is stunning and still has an immaculate jet-black glossy sheen with no marks or scratches.  Under a bright light it's difficult to make out any hairlines!  There are a couple of faint bands on S2 but so so faint!  There is no groove or surface wear, no 'bag rash' and the run out grooves are very clean.  The yellow / black Parlophone labels are unmarked and there is only a little spindle wear on S1 and hardly any on S2.  The KT tax code can easily be seen on the S1 label.

Play grading  

The opening vocal section on 'It Won't Be Long' plays to perfection and the first 'quieter' vocal is just as impressive.  It continues to play with sensational quality - the audio definition is stunning for such a high octane track, I cannot fault it.  The clarity is 10/10 and the final acapella like vocal is a case in point.  Superb and Mint

There is complete silence in the dead wax and then 'All I've Got To Do' plays to the same exact standard with no intrusion.  From start to  finish there are no ticks, clicks, pops or static and Mint is again richly deserved.  Even the fade out has no background, no need for a minus here!

To continue a theme 'All My Loving' plays with impeccable quality through every section.  Once again the clarity and definition is second to none.  So far the audio on this side is absolutely STUNNING!  Mint

'Don't Bother Me' was of course Harrison's first exploration into song writing and this version plays with sublime clarity with no sign of any intrusion.  The depth and resonance of the audio again top class.  Mint

'Little Child' often plays with some distortion but this is without doubt one of the cleanest versions I have heard in years.  Most likely the best ever.  I can't overstate how strong and clear the audio is - from the harmonica intro and then through every vocal and instrumental section the audio really is of the highest calibre.  Mint

The acoustic intro on 'Till There Was You' plays beautifully and McCartney's first vocal is equally as good.  It proceeds in the same way and the acoustic instrumental has not so much as a dust tick.  Honestly you would not be disappointed if you had just bought this record brand new, that's how well defined the music is thus far.  The remainder is on the same level and the fade out is perfect.  For a quiet track it plays with STUNNING precision and Mint is again the only grade I can give.

The classic 'Please Mister Postman' is the 'cleanest' version I have ever heard.  As is common with final tracks it is always impacted by inner groove distortion but here it is kept to an absolute minimum.  Perhaps it's a tad harsh to downgrade it but I will say Near Mint - needless to say there is no actual interference.

Their version of the classic 'Roll Over Beethoven' is one of their most powerful numbers and, you guessed it, it plays with phenomenal audio from the first note to the last.  Harrison's first few notes sets it up nicely, the playback is 'as new' and his opening vocal section is on the same level.  It continues to play with breathtaking quality and the instrumental is mind-blowingly good!  Have to mention the vocal 'sound' also as it just could not be any clearer.  This is MINT with a capital M!

'Hold Me Tight', 'You Really Got A Hold On Me' and 'I Wanna Be Your Man' provide further evidence of a vinyl hardly played.  They all play with a clarity and definition up there with the best and I do feel like I'm in a 60s time-warp here!  Not one minor static even, no background whatsoever.  The power and resonance of the audio is out of this world!  All three grade as Mint

A slight shift in tone with 'Devil In Her Heart' and it plays with impeccable quality throughout.  Again I don't want to sound repetitive but it honestly sound like it has never been on a turntable before.  Mint

The opening vocal section on 'Not A Second Time' plays very clearly with barely any inner groove distortion and the first instrumental break plays perfectly.  Lennon's next vocal is like the first and to the end it plays with flawless precision.  Mint-

The intro on 'Money' is 'as new' - how rare is that - and the first verse / chorus are similar with only minimal inner groove distortion.  This track is often unplayable I find due to a lot of distortion but there is very little here and certainly nothing intrusive.  I'm confident in saying it is the cleanest, most distinct version I have ever listened - it's so powerful and for this final track to play as well as this is a real find.  It has the wow factor!  This time I think Mint- is fair reflection of the audio.

The Patents Pending G & L Cover & Emitex Inner

The laminated cover is in lovely condition with barely any wear.  The edges are pristine and the spine is very similar with hardly any wear on the corners.  The right hand corners are super clean and the opening edge is as close to perfect as is possible.  The front cover is stunning without any marking and only a couple of tiny faint edge creases next to the spine and three small laminate creases near the right edge.  The back cover is in beautiful condition when you consider it isn't laminated.  I cannot see any marking and the flipbacks are incredibly clean, there is just one tiny uplift on the top flipback but it's so minor it hardly warrants a mention.  A handful of mega tiny crimps on the opening edge but again so so minor - you need a magnifying glass.  This is a stunning example of this iconic cover and definitely worthy of a Near Mint- grade.

The original Emitex inner is in excellent condition with no side splits or tears and not too much creasing.  It just has some age related fading as is common.

I will only send items items worldwide via tracked shipping.  This provides 'peace of mind' in case of loss or damage.  The shipping costs are shown below and combined shipping is always offered.  Any over-payment will always be refunded.

The Royal Mail only insure up to a value of £250 so if an item sells for more it may be wise to use a courier service (e.g. Parcelforce or DPD).  An extra insurance premium will be required but I will not know the exact amount until the final sale price is known.  Because of this I will sometimes have to estimate the cost and this will be shown in the listing.  Please wait for the invoice before making payment and if you have any questions please feel free to ask.  Many thanks.

All vinyls are packaged in strong over-sized custom made mailers with plenty of extra cardboard protection.  They are placed inside separate poly-lined inners outside the cover so as to avoid seam splits in transit and then placed inside a PVC sleeve to provide even more protection.  I pride myself on my high quality packaging as my feed confirms and if any customer has any specific requirements I am more than happy to help.

The mailers I use cost £1.00 each and I will use anything between 3-5 cardboard stiffeners which cost approx £0.18 each.  There is also the cost of the poly-lined inner and PVC sleeve to consider, it all adds up!  Not forgetting that eBay take 10% of the shipping fee also!!
