Original very early 1st date release, July 5th, 1967, true 1st Japanese red wax translucent pressing with the very early 1st issue ”7F” stamp in the trail-off vinyl. When describing this record we've used "The Illustrated Guide To The '60s Japanese LP With OBI" (First Edition, 2006) from SHINKO MUSIC. Here's what's worth knowing about this earliest 1st Japanese pressing of The Beatles Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. First of all, it's an extremely rare OBI, whose design got miscalculated and therefore, a part of the image with the "Arches" at the top got misaligned during printing and ended up on the back side of the front panel. This misprint led to this OBI becoming highly collectible. It also became the main identifier of the very 1st Japanese pressing. There is only a few number of these copies exist, because the design of the OBI was corrected and the top "Arches" got aligned properly in less than a month. You can easily find the photos of the corrected OBI on the web as the majority of copies of the Japanese pressing of Sgt. Pepper come with the properly aligned "Arches" OBI. The second identifier of the true 1st pressing is the matrix stamper "7F", which was also quickly changed to "7G" in less than a month. The "7F" identifier, just like the 1st print misaligned OBI, is present on this copy. (Please see the detailed photos) Original cardboard fully laminated "Made in Japan" gatefold cover with the Odeon Records logo and 2000 yen retail price (also present on the OBI) at the bottom right of the back cover. As we've mentioned previously, this issue comes with the very early 1st misprint OBI with the Odeon Records logo, Catalog Number OP-8163 and 2000 yen retail price. The amount of 2000 yen first appeared on Sgt. Pepper's OBI as 1st print OBI of Revolver, contained the retail price of 1,750 yen. The OBI also contains a banner in the Japanese Kanji saying that the selling start date of Sgt. Pepper in Japan coincides with the UK. The issue also includes the original rice paper color "Everclean Records" flap pocket inner sleeve with a flap over top and adverts for other Odeon Records releases on both sides. Original 1st print Odeon Records OP-8163 Stereo catalog number black 'Odeon' label with a large 'O' Odeon Records logo and "Mfd. By Toshiba Musical Industries LTD. in Japan" silver print text. Original very early thick heavy weight red wax antistatic vinyl 1st pressing with the 1st issue '7F' pressing stamp and 1st matrix numbers in the trail-off wax vinyl (dead red wax): Side 1 - YEX-637-1S2 1 EVERCLEAN RECORDS SYMBOL 7F / Side 2 - YEX-638-1S2 1 EVERCLEAN RECORDS SYMBOL. In 1958 in Japan, Toshiba Musical Industries, one of the two or three large manufacturers of records in Japan, began pressing colored vinyl records, with the introduction of their red, “Everclean” vinyl. This vinyl compound was created in order to be more resistant to static electricity, and was intended to help prevent records from accumulating dust. Toshiba pressed red colored vinyl records from 1958 through early 1974, though they often coexisted on the shelves with black vinyl pressings."

VINYL: EXCELLENT MINUS (EX-) The record contains only a couple of barely noticeable very light surface marks on the vinyl itself with the majority of marks located on the dead wax area.

LABELS: EXCELLENT (EX) The labels are very clean, only having some very light spindle marks, visible under a strong light source, which are very common on Odeon Record labels.

Realizing how important it is to secure the safety of the item you've paid your money for, I'll put my best effort into packing the records as best as possible, triple boxing them into the specialized professional boxes, with the two outer boxes having a special construction with extended cardboard on the edges to prevent the record covers' corners from getting damaged during the transit, and will also put the vinyl outside of the cover (of course, unless it's a sealed record) to prevent the splitting. I always try responding to the messages, but please, before sending me a message, make sure that the answer to your question isn't included in the description.
