VG Very Good, record shows visible signs of playing and handling, may have light surface scratching, groove wear, and spindle trails that may produce light surface noise. Jacket is VG when it has one or two of these problems: ring wear, seam splits, bent corners, loss of gloss, stains, ect.

G Good, well played with surface noise, despite the defects record should still play without skipping. Jacket has apparent flaws but should not obliterate art work.

P Poor, any record or cover that does not meet the above grading.
