The Clash “On Parole” Genuine 1978 UK Tour Poster
An original Clash "On Parole" UK poster (size 890mm x 640mm) for their short 15 date UK tour June - July 1978. This is the much rarer, slightly smaller version of the two that were produced at the time, and this scarcer version excludes the added “plus from the USA Suicide” print in black, which was printed on the more commonly seen poster. This exact same poster was on display as part of - music poster collector & Punk Historian Garry Loveridge’s Blank Generation – (A collection Of Original Punk Posters) exhibition. Videos of the exhibition can be viewed on YouTube, and this poster can be seen on the Spizz 77 video performing from the opening night.
Although there is some general creasing, various pin holes and a very small section missing from the top left hand corner, the overall condition of this poster is very good indeed - and would really suit being framed. For an idea of relative value, the last same size version to sell at auction fetched over £800 at Bonham's, hence I feel that my poster represents excellent value for money, and is an extremely rare opportunity!
